Melissa Schatzmann is a Realist Pencil Artist who achieves high realism in each of her drawings by paying close attention to detail to capture the essence of her subjects. Her work is mainly wildlife, portraits and nature subjects.
Through many years of dedication, time, and patience, drawing has helped her pay closer attention to the smaller details in life that are often unnoticed in our daily lives. It’s these moments in life that she wants to capture through her artwork.
Melissa has taught drawing classes for more than 11 years to over a thousand children and adults at Loyalist College and in her home. She has also designed Ontario’s first online drawing courses in both pencil and coloured pencils offered through eight Community Ontario Colleges.
Melissa is an exhibitor at Buckhorn Fine Art Festival and a founding member of The Group of Twelve who represent Contemporary Realists Artists from across Canada.
Her work is privately displayed in homes in Canada, U.S. and Europe.
