Lorene Sinclair is a former teacher, born and bred in The County, with extensive experience with gardening, crafting, choral music, picklemaking, large-scale entertaining, knitting, sewing, church and museum work. She has been making a lot of soap since the spring of 1998. She finally succumbed to pressures from friends and family to sell the product and formed a small hobby business, Oakgrove Soapourri, early in 2002.
Lorene makes handcrafted, hand-cut, cold-processed soap, the real thing, from vegetable oils and beeswax, the old-fashioned way from scratch, one batch at a time. She makes soap and only soap and she makes a lot of it: for wholesale and retail, B&B, and special event, simple, honest attractive bars of all kinds, for your splashing about.
Oakgrove Soapourri is located in Oakgrove, the home of the Sinclair family and she invites the public to come and visit, see the 'potpourri' of soap from which to choose, have a cup of tea and enjoy the gardens!
