Karen Richey

Mosaic Artist

Guest Artist of Jeff Keary at 116 Barley Road

Hosted by Jeff Keary, Karen is very pleased to be a repeat guest artist of the Rednersville Road Art Tour.

Karen’s passion for mosaics is visible in her variety of intricate and creative pieces. Inspired by mandalas and the kindness of others, her medium is stained glass, stone and smalti ( hand-cut, traditional, Mexican and Italian mosaic glass). On occasion you will find pieces of her work playfully and soulfully include china and found trinkets.

The fall/winter months bring opportunities to explore creativity. In the fall Karen apprenticed with Anja Hertle, a Northumberland mosaic artist. Anja patiently mentored Karen as she delved into the world of china and pottery mosaics.

In the winter Karen’s work concentrated on a large scale project; a nine foot tall, mosaic, Peace Pole and small scale home embellishments; switch plate covers using glass, china, pottery and trinkets.
