Helen is a self-taught artist working in watercolour batik, traditional watercolour on paper and canvas or board , soft pastel and acrylic. She enjoys trying out new ways of creating art. In the last two years she has gathered like-minded artists to join together for plein air experiences. The enjoyment of this practice has has greatly influenced her work.

She mostly paints landscapes but she has also had a lot of experience painting streetscapes, house portraits, pets and other animals, and florals, these especially in watercolour batik on kinwashi rice paper.

-trained in workshops in Southampton, Buckhorn, Orillia, Bloomfield, Mohawk College, Brantford -commissioned to paint many watercolour house portraits. -accepted in Colborne Gallery Juried show, AGN Juried shows (2022,2023,2024)., SOTH Juried Show (2022) -Solo shows in Newcastle Gift of Art (2017), Colborne Gallery(2018), Northumberland Gallery Shop, Port Hope( 2020, 2023) -work currently shown in Northumberland Gallery and Shop, Port Hope, and the Colborne Art Gallery -work will also be on display at the Apple Route Studio Tour in June each year and the Rednersville Road Art Tour in September.
