Kirei Samuel

Kirei is a glass fusing artist.

She started her business as Kirei  Handmade Jewellery in the early 90’s.  Kirei travelled Ontario participating in high-quality handmade craft shows, including Signature’s shows in Ottawa and Toronto. In 2007 she moved to Prince Edward County and opened her studio called Lalaland Glass Studio.  Kirei is fascinated with techniques in glass and is constantly learning new approaches and pushing techniques in different directions.  Glass fusing is a constant dance between heat and time to produce a piece.

Kirei Has been teaching at Haliburton’s School of Art and Design’s  Summer Art Program for the last 7 years and recently opened a year-round teaching studio at Lalaland.  In 2021, Kirei started teaching in the Elementary School system, a workshop she devised for Grades 5-8.  She will be teaching in Batawa in April.  Her work is constantly evolving, sometimes whimsical, sometimes bold.
