As a person of mixed settler and Odawa heritage, my art is a physical example of the beautiful and complex relationship that exists in that identity.

My work is a narrative of the quest for deeper connection to culture, land, spirituality and community. Recently, I have begun to incorporate painterly motifs directly related to ancestry, clans, and medicine. A curated colour palate and banding of tactile clay is reminiscent of the Earth, its creatures and elements and speaks directly to the strings that link us to our past, present and future.

I create art for everyday use, occasional use and display as objects of reflection and discussion. Functional wares become opportunities to refocus our busy minds, turning inwards to appreciate the beauty in the mundane.
