Lois Child

Lois recently moved from Whitby to Carrying Place. She and her husband also have a second home in Carrick-on-Shannon, Ireland. Lois has always been an avid photographer and has displayed and sold her prints through local galleries, boutiques and online locally before moving to the county. She is currently a member of 3 photography clubs. On retirement from SickKids, Lois discovered the joys of playing with colours through acrylic paint pouring to create decorative and functional pieces including jewellery. The perils of YouTube seduced Lois into her next creative outlet of printing using a gel plate to create abstract prints and collages. The melding of the different media in collage is a powerful outlet for her emotional well being. All her mediums celebrate form and colour to allow Lois to express appreciation of her place in a beautiful world.
