Lois Child

Lois finds the creative process both calming and exciting. She has explored multiple media to challenge her growth and to expand her ability to connect with others. Always fascinated by colour and free forms and details, her journey has progressed through photography, acrylic pour painting and most recently Monoprints created on a Gelli Plate. The original prints are presented as stand alone works or incorporated in collages. Many of her techniques are acquired through watching videos by other artist on YouTube and experimenting in her studio . The community of creatives both online and in person is a great inspiration to her. She belongs to multiple camera and artists clubs and sells her work through art tours and speciality shops like The Local Store in PEC and Unique Town Boutique in Whitby as well as prior private shows in her own home. Her creative practice includes researching different ways of seeing and representing her own vision, sourcing the materials to create, creating, revisiting pieces in process, displaying and sharing the end result with others and learning their response to her work. Each step is important to her and what motivates her to continue creating. She has been featured in 2 regional print publications in past years.

Lois Child is a resident of Prince Edward County in Carrying Place. She has participated in 2 prior Rednersville Road Studio Art Tours and enjoys the diverse people exploring the artists in their local community.
