Lois Reid Allin

Lola Reid Allin is a former Airline Transport Pilot, the first female flight instructor at two flight schools, & the first woman to fly the Twin Otter (DHC6/300) for a scheduled air service. She’s also worked professionally as a SCUBA Dive Master, and she’s an award-winning weaver, author, and photographer whose work has appeared in many notable local, national, & international publications.

Her memoir, HIGHWAY to the SKY: An Aviator’s Journey ($24.99, Simon & Schuster/ Sept 2024) follows her life’s dream of a career in aviation when most women looked forward to a life of diapers & dishes. In February, her book hit Amazon.com’s Top 100 list in Aviation & Nautical Biography.
